The New Jersey Automobile/Insurance Market is once again in turmoil. State Farm, AIG, MCA, GSA, and Providence Washington have all filed with the DOBI (Department of Banking and Insurance) to leave the marketplace.

Several other carriers have requested large rate increases. Liberty Mutual is requesting a 25.2 percent rate hike, Colonial Penn is seeking a 37.6 percent increase and Selective has requested an 18.9 percent increase.
